Under the generous patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation Athletics League competitions for age groups will be held today, Saturday, May 6th, 2023, which is organized by the Faisal bin Khalid Athletics Academy for Talented related to Bahrain Athletics Association and under the supervision of the General Sports Authority.
Bahrain National Stadium will witness the start of the competitions that will be started at 4:30 pm and ended at 8:00 pm. The League competitions will be held in the following competitions: the 100m for boys under 16 years, the long jump competition for boys under 18 years, the high jump competition for boys under 16, the 80m race for girls and boys under 16, and the 100m for girls and boys under 18. The 400m under 18 girls and boys, the long jump competition for boys under 16, the triple jump competition, the 800m for girls and boys under 16, the 800m under 18 for boys and girls, the 4X 100 mixed relay for girls and boys under 16, and the 4X 100 under 18 for girls and boys.
Yusuf Ahmed the Secretary General of the Bahraini Athletics Association, confirmed that the association is entirely ready to launch Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation Athletics League based on the efforts made by the several working committees in the association, with special concerns to Faisal bin Khalid Academy for the Talented, the competitions & referees committee, under the supervision and continuous follow-up of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed bin Abdullatif Fahad Bin Jalal, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors.
Yusuf Ahmed stressed that the association is proud to organize Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation Athletics League due to the great importance of this league in graduating more talents for athletics in a wonderful competitive sporting atmosphere with various jumping and running competitions, as athletics is considered one of the important Olympic games that attracts the interest of many lovers and the creation of champions in this sport would provide Bahrain with more achievements and crowing with colorful medals in competitions in athletics, whether in the Gulf, Arab, Asian or Olympic championships.
Yusuf explained that the technical director of Faisal bin Khalid Academy for the Talented, Saad Shadad, prepared an integrated creative program for the competitions with the help of the rest of the technical and administrative staff. Therefore, they have be appreciated for all their efforts.
