Winfred Yavi wins the Zurich round in the IAAF Diamond League

Winfred Yavi achieved a new achievement in her sports career after winning first place in the women’s 3000m steeplechase race in round 11th of the Athletics Diamond League, which was held in Zurich, Switzerland. This glory achieved several days after winning gold in the Senior World Athletics Championships that settled down in Budapest

The World champion Winfred Yavi finished the women’s 3000m steeplechase race in 9:03:10 minutes, ahead of the Kenyan competitor “Petric Jepkoech” who came in second place with 9:03:70 minutes, and her compatriot “Faith Cherotich” who came in Third place with 9:07:59 minutes.

Winifred Yavi follows the trace of her companion Ruth Jebet, who won the Diamond League title in the 3,000m steeplechase in the 2019 edition.

The distinguished result achieved by Winfred Yavi is considered an affirmation of her readiness to participate in the 3000m steeplechase race at the 19th Asian Games to be started on September 23rd 2023 in Hangzhou, China.
