Our both gender national team left for Doha, Qatari to participate in the West Asian Men’s and Women’s Athletics Championships, which will be held from April 26 to 29.
Our delegation is led by Mr. Khalid Faris Al-Qatami the member of Bahrain Athletics’ Board of Directors, while the delegation consists of two coaches Issam Nima and Paolo Georgi Gil, one official Faten Abdulnabi Jassim, and the physiotherapist Jasim Al Namshan.
The men’s team will be represented by Dawit Fikadu, Abalghani Mohamed Hamid 5,000m, Abdelrahman Mahmoud- shot put, while the women’s team will include Marta Hirpato and Tigest Mekonen for the 800m and 1500m, Bontu Rebito Edao 10000m, Fatima Mubarak Issa for the long jump, Noora Jasim- shot put.
The competition will be held in the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium at the Qatar Club, and according to the timetable circulated by the Continental Athletics Association, the men’s competitions will be held in 110m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m, 4×100m, 4×400m, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 300m and 10000m walk, long jump and jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw and decathlon.
While the women’s competitions will be in 110m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m, 4×100m, 4×400m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 300m and 10000m walk, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw and heptathlon.
